4 liters unmixed should be MORE than adequate.

1 gallon of coolant + rest water will give you more than 50%, so it's gonna be more than enough for your climete. Use destiled water though.

How about drinking water? Can it be use instead of destiled water with same results? Can someone answer this please?

Distilled <> drinking

Distilled means it's literally boiled to remove the "bad stuff". Drinking is only 'slightly filtered'.

Go for distilled.

drinking water contains minerals. You need de-mineralized water so that it does not leave deposits.

They sell distilled water at grocery stores. Sorry guys, I know what to run, just haven't flushed my coolant system in a long time and wanted to make sure I bought enough. Thanks.

You can obviuosly use tap water also -- but you definitely would want it mixed w/ coolant in that case. Don't run excess amounts of tap water. Besides, distilled water actually cools better. Now I'm not saying you're going to lower your temps 20 degrees, but the cooling ability is improved because you don't have those excess minerals in there.

You don't have to boil distilled water -- it's already been boiled. But if you're really cheap or really bored, you can make your own.

Well I just got 2 gallons of coolant. Some neat stuff, its "Quick Fill," already premixed. Guess you kinda get ripped money-wise since you get half the coolant, but oh well. It was the only stuff anyways and I didn't have to go 2 places

I wouldnt but in more than 35% or 40% coolant.. My car runs a lot warmer with a 50% mix.

Water cools much better than coolant.. best just to put water in if the temps near you don't dip below freezing..

I phrased that wrong.. water cools better than ethylene glycol or antifreeze.. I suppose coolant is really just the mixture of the two..

Definitely in the summer months you could get by with just water. And as FC3Sport said, straight water (distilled!!!) will cool better than a coolant mix.

Just make sure you flush or at least drain some and add antifreeze when you get closer to winter!!
