Shuffs and Giggles

well today i took off my exhaust on a 86 non turbo rx7 because im doing a clutch replacement, and i wanted to hear what the exhaust sounded like header-back, i want to roll with just header-back for a day or two, but does this cause damage to the engine, with no back pressure?

I drove my old 91NA with no exhaust whatsoever from the house to the muffler shop to fabricate a header.
I installed a temporary deflector shield to keep from starting a fire.
It was fun for a few minutes.
Power was down some without the tuning you get from standing wave resonance in an exhaust system.
