Should I go with a FC3S TII or go with a 1995-1998 Nissan 240sx with a Nissan Skyline Engine (RB25DET). Yeah i know my ****. Even though I can't even drive yet. I will be driving on my birthday, in June.


OK what I am going to do is either save up $600 this 1987 RX7 Ihave lined up already.

Or save a little more for a Nissan 240sx with a BIGDOG RB25DET SKYLINE engine.

Let me know,be truthful.



I will still eventually get a RX7, if I get the 240sx.

i think its all bout what you like cuz i have a s13 and a fc and i think the fc is my fav car out of any.....well a r32 is pretty close to the top too. but i just dont like the newer 240's....too me they are kinda ugly. plus with that motor in it its going to be pretty front heavy and im hopeing the guy who had that car got a brembo big brake upgrade or something to that nature cuz damn....you wont be able to stop worth a crap. but 600 for a fc is good stuff....me myself would go for that. or hell ill buy it i would love to have 4 cars....2 fc's s13 and a truck good luck with what u pick up tho.

Don't take this wrong, but to be honest, a 240 with an RB25DET is a really fast car.. I'd start off with something else a little bit easier to control, you will put that thing into a ditch so easily.. Not saying you are a good or bad driver, i dont know you, but you should work your way up.

no i am going to buy a i love s13's and s14's but s14 seem to be able to handle that weight.

And i was going to put the engine in when I get my 240sx. Either way Ia m getting both eventually. So it doesn't matter.

That is for 240sx with a RB25DET. Not a RB26DET. Not the FC3S.

yea im 19 and i almost died countless times with my n/a fc... an RB26DET is puttin out crazy hp so id def end up half way between a telephone pole... and cmon your postin in an rx7 forum askin what kinda car u should buy get the FC... i have driven an s13 and i really liked it even tho it was stock but i still liked the way my rx7 handled over it...personally thats a tempting deal but i dunno if i would trust someone who had jus owned an rb26's 240... thats just me but they prb beat tha **** outta that car

Ok here is my senerio either way in about a year or two my car will have 300hp. Stock rb25det has about as much as a FD RX7. Whats the diference. Oh yeah I have a car well my parents have a 140+ MPH maxima i can get used to power in. Also I ride my dads 190+ 2001 Suzuki GSX-R 1000, i only went 120 put it was so f-ing fun. I can control high power.

acceleration and handling is better with rx7 by far....maybe its just me but i would say it is. i hope im anwsering that question right.....

the rb series is a HUGE motor for the 240. consider that motor was designed to strap onto an awd drivetrain. the only applications ive seen the rb25 used for is drag.. for an s13/14 chassis. even the signal 350z uses an sr20det. youd prolly be better doing that. or making a crackhead ca18.
if you really have money and want to do a ***** out swap, do a cosmo motor (3 rotor TT) in the fc chassis.
otherwise, i wouldnt even do a jspec swap. just do a us version t2 swap and youll have it easier, plus youll have some $ for more mods. also, buying jspec motors is sketchy at best, most of those motors have been sitting in junkyards, and theres alot of shady companies out there. youre much better off building a US t2 block, then the motor will be like new!

I'll disagree with that. Just learnin' to drive, a guy's gonna push the envelope. In a car with lesser handling, the chance of losing control while getting the seat-of-the-pants driving skills is a lot higher.
I've been driving longer than a lot of you guys have been walking and the superior handling of the RX has saved my bacon more than once.
When you're just starting out, you're going to press it and you could lose it. If I was going to drive along the edge, I'd rather do it in something which handles like an RX.

Just one man's humble opinion.

oh...your going to put it in...i thought you found one with the motor in it. but if your going for it might as well get the 2.5L engine....i mean its not that much more for it. all i have to say is e sure you got enough for all the mods your going to do at once just cuz it is so expensive....no point going cheap and messin that thing up. but your good to go with that rx7 first....only thing is you might get used to the rx7 too much and notice how crappy the 240 will be....u know unless you drop a good 15 grand into it. then who know what way you will be leaning. just my 2 cents on that.

Probably wealthy parents, which kinda sucks cause I wish I had the same thing :p

But from a long term standpoint, and dont think I'm criticizing you, but dont you think that having 300hp from either a TII or RB powered 240 is a little excessive for one who is not driving and does not have either engine or car yet? I mean, there's nothing wrong with having a fast car, but realistically, for the price and labour needed for both cars, is it worth it?

Basically, you just have to ask yourself, are these cars going to be able to fit your everyday needs? 300hp to go to school everyday seems uncessary in my opinion.

But anyways, if I were you, I would probably take the 240sx simply because of the newer technology (OBDII) and obviously, chassis age as well. But I wouldnt put in an RB series engine, because the SR, CA or KA can easily obtain 300hp or so without much modifcations.

TII's are nice, but they're getting old. Choose a car that can last as long as you drive it.

I meant learn how to drive responsibly like a good citizen. Obeying the speed limit and laws not drive "good" like learn how to handle a car that is fast on the street. That should never been done. The speed should be left for the track. It should never be at the point where a teen ager uses his car to the full potential on the street. That is how people die. Plus I don't want good cars totaled because of snot nosed punks.

A 15 year old changes his mind like his socks, 300 hp is just a figure that is talked about with mates, just get the stock 7 and drive it responsibly, they still hall **** in stock form. My 2 cents worth!

ok 1987rx7guy your telling this kid to go out and buy a geo do you know what people call geos they call them death traps because thats what they are you get hit in one of those chances are your going to get messed up there small cramped and poorly bilt

and if you give a kid front weel drive with rear weel e-brake he is going to go in to the ditch in the winter

thats my 2 cents and yes i did put the geo in to the ditch in the winter more then once ya i may have gotten it out but what are you suposto do when you live in a hick town and there is nothing else to do when people are afraid of going out because there's to much snow on the ground.

my advice for redFC3Sboy is look severl times before you atempt to do any thing in a car look for cops look for people and look for other cars and even if the road looks black in the winter chances are its black ice (the stuff that's so smoth that you can see it )

think every thing through several times before you do any thing you will have mistakes the best way to learn is by making mistakes

just don't get your self killed or kill any one...

My dad makes like 3.8K a week. And he makes that through his own company, pretty good for a 36 year old BLACK man. If I work for him all summer I will have a **** load of money. And I will have the skills. I exagerated on the speed on my dads bike I only went 85. But that is still fast, felt like 130 in a car, must be the wind.
