should I be looking for a new housing
I have some small grooving on my rear housing kind of like running the back of your figernail across a piece of tin foil. should this be trashed? Heres a pic.

The grooves are very slight but you can definitely feel them as you run your fingers across the housing. the other housing has no such wear. I dont want to go through the expense of buying all new seals and have a bad housing screw me.

Cant really see that. Is that it next to the "cardomain" sign?
I had scratches on each of my intermediate housings that u could run your finger nail across and feel'em. The guy that helped me with my rebuild said there fine.
As long as there not way to deep its fine.

I've seen marks after the plug hole on a lot of housings in person and in pics on this site. Could it be from dirt getting in during a plug change? All opinions please.

Check out http://www.jhbperformance.com/products/rotorhousing.php
They ceramic coat the housings allowing you to salvage housing that are normally considered bad. There is a thread about it somewhere, i think in rotary performance. I'm planning on sending my housings there once i pull the emgine.

Personally, think of it this way. If you were to run an apex seal across the surface, would it make a good seal? If you don't think it will, then the housing is no good. If its very very slight, just remember that 100psi+ has to be trapped by the apex seal sealing that surface.

i would toss it, i dont even think you can cermet coat a housing in that condition.
if the grooving was above the exhaust port for instance it would be a different story, and even then it would be in the grey area for usable.
