should this have happened?

first off, I have an 87 N/A 5speed gxl

I lost a race to my friend's mx6 v6 automatic, which wouldn't have bothered me(we have the same mods, intake exhaust), except that he really pulled me top end until third(when my clutch finally went) he had me by 2 cars, by third gear. I got a good launch and everything, but top end, there wasn't anything I could do. Could it be that my 5th and 6th ports aren't opening? or do you think it could be more serious, I also lost to my other friends' integra Ls on the highway, I downshifted ,and it was like my car was standing still, no contest, could It have been the clutch slipping? i haven't noticed a decrease in power or anything, since I just got the car. Maybe I should have lost both times, but somehow I think things could've been closer...

Check www.car-stats.com
88, 92, 93, 94 (LS) MX-6: 0-60 7.5, 1/4 15.7
89 LX (auto) 9.3, 17.1

The top four it was unclear if they were auto or manual, although atleast one was manual. They can have 180hp so I would expect on to be close or faster.

I'm not sure about the integra.

Get your clutch fixed and find out for sure.

with the automatic he should pull off the line, but I've raced a V6 MX6 that was modified and I easily caught him in the long run. I would get a new clutch and light weight flywheel. Also replace your plugs and wires.

Do a compression check. With an engine that old and that many mile you might have lost some compression and horsepower.

An mx6 automatic? What happened? You must not have been pressing the accelerator or something, but na all jokes aside the clutch probaly had a lot to do with it. Man those cars shouldn''t be in your league even if thay have intake and exhaust, like those mods make much of a difference on those cars. Fix your clutch then race.

The V6 Mx6 is faster than an NA FC stock. They run in the high 15s while the FC runs in the mid 16s. They start out with 164hp and weigh like 2700lbs. A S4 NA has 146hp and weighs about the same. What would make the FC faster? An FC might respond a little better to mods than the 6, but prolly not enough to make a difference.

It was an automatic. That means nothing I mean nothing off the line. He was going to have to play catch up the whole time. By time the freaking slow mx6 got close it would have been over. Hey airbrush if you have a problem with the mx6 just pm me, and I will glady bring the ******* beast out. 1.3L vs. 2.5 v6.

But you understand that the mx6 is faster, right? I mean even with an automatic it should run about 16 flat. Then with mods in the 15s. Most FCs are lucky to get a mid 16 stock these days, then with intake and exhaust(I don't know what "exhaust" means, muffler?Header?) they could be about even, but thats if they are a good driver and the car is running perfectly.

I figured that the mx6 is faster stock, but he has transmission issues, i knew I wouldn't beat him, but It should've been closer, I had him off the line... oh well, he's my next kill goal shouldn't be too much work, i'll get him though. Hey at least I got beat by another mazda!

Ok, what kind of exhaust do you have? Maybe your aux. ports aren't opening.
