Shorter steering? I assume you mean a faster steering rack ratio. The fastest available is the OEM rack from the following:
The 86-89 GXL, 86-87 Sport, 88-89 GTU, 86-87.5 Base, 87.5-88 SE, 86-87.5 Luxury, 87-91 US spec Turbo, and the 88-89 Vert that were equipped with power steering
This is a 15.2:1 rack, the other cars with power steering have a rack ratio of 17.4:1, the manual rack cars are 20:1.
See here for a writeup on how to convert a power rack to manual:

Assuming manual operation on all, the advantages of the faster racks are less input needed, the downside is increased effort.
There are no aftermarket solutions out there for a faster rack for these cars unless you want to get creative and adapt something. I think the 15.2:1 rack should be good for anyone though, I'm happy with my 17.4:1 for track and autocross use.

Yeah i ment faster steering rack ratio. I thought it would be mutch better with a shorter ratio but i heard that to short will make it very hard to "balance" the car.. Maybe i should just stick with the rack i got and make the turn angle bigger. Gonna buy the super angle now kit and maybe do some custom mods.
Custom mods for road use isnt that smart if something happends :S

most power steering cars are 15.7 i believe.
some form of s5 ps cars are around 17:1, manual rack cars are around 20:1
FD is like 15.0:1 It can fit on, but is not a exact match. Don't think its very difficult at all though.
FD is 2 bolt,m FC is 3 bolt, or maybe its the other way around.
Dunno, just stuff I've read on the forum

I already posted the ratios, they're 15.2:1, 17.4:1 and 20:1, and I poste what cars got the fast PS rack.
AFAIK the 15.2:1 racks are all the speed sensing ones and are 3 port for the 3 lines, the 17.4:1 are 2 port for the 2 lines.
There's no need to adapt an FD rack, ours are just as fast.
