Question A few FC questions

I bought my first N/A FC about 2 weeks and after a few weeks of researching I decided to keep it N/A and upgrade it. Putting a turbo on it would cost me way to much money and time which I dont have. I was planning on getting a rebuilt 13B NA and sticking that in because the one I have has 110,000 miles on it. Im also planning on getting a new tranny but I hear that the stock tranny/clutch doesnt do a good job handling more than 200 hp. So my first question is what tranny should I get if im planning on getting somewhere around 250 when im done? Next I am going to get a completely new HKS exhaust and headers on it (including downpipe), but I want to know what would be the best intake for it? Ive been looking at the "air ram" system but I was reading some posts that said it wasnt very effective.

If anyone has any advice they could give me on what Tranny/intake I should get I would appreciate it.

*Keep in mind i'm new at this so if my question is dumb please just correct me* (not too harshly)

It's quite likely that installing a rebuilt 13BNA is going to cost the same, if not more then installing a turbo. A "new" transmission will run thousands from Mazda, unless you are talking about just installing the Turbo II transmission (used).

You'll never break 250HP without radical porting and/or nitrous, so I wouldn't start immediately upgrading the drivetrain...

"Ram air" is not effective at all. There is virtually no "ram" effect until you're > 500 MPH. The good thing is that they suck in nice cold air...There is no "best" intake. Just avoid the HKS pile of crap. Whatever intake you install, don't expect more then a 1-2HP gain, and make a cold air box for it.
