What you need to find is someone who took care of the car, but doesn't know anything about drifting or Intial D, then you may get a fair price for it.

I got into my '88 TII for $3000, in decent condition. I have been forced to put a lot of money into it to repair issues since it was almost 100% stock and original parts with 150K miles on it. I wanted an S5, but the S4 was the one that I could find. I'm still in the process of waiting on parts to bring it back to 100%, but if I were to sell it after I finish it, I wouldn't take less than $5K for it.

As for the pricing: Look at Supras, epecially Mk IV's, their prices are nearly twice their blue book value, the market is set based on the demand or percieved demand of the car. Pre Fast and the Furious, I could buy a 3 year old TT Supra for $18K with low miles and warranty left. I was negoitating a private sale on a Supra during this time, and when I finally had a buyer for my GS-R, (after the movie came out) then the price had jumped from $18K to $32K.

If you are planning on buying a TII, I would make sure you bought it soon, since there is a mainstream "Intial D" movie in the works, and if they retain the cars, FC3S prices will probably soar in General, and TII prices will become premium because of their relative rarity to the N/A versions.

I paid 500 for a S5 n/a with a bad motor.

Still he advertised and asked for $3800.

You must learn the fine art of negotiation when buying a car
I wish I knew how to do that well.

I got my '90 rx-7 GTU for $2800... Seems a bit higher than the other n/a's but everything works and it has a VERY recent paint job, tires, and a recent rebuild...I think I gotta deal.
