Question Shocks Bad Thinking of Upgrading

So my shocks are done on my FC. They were horrible from the start but anyways I am considering either the Tokico Illuminas or the KYB AGX Adjustable. Which one is more recommended if you have any experience with them thanks.

I considered both when I replaced my struts. I decided to go with the Tokico and Eibach springs. I really enjoy the feel of the car on the lowest setting for normal cruising and driving around town, feels better than stock. Turning the setting up makes the car extremely stiff suitable for "spirited" driving. I have had them on their for about 25K miles now and they are holding really well.

How hard is it to adjust the settings. I am new to the whole adjustable suspension set up. Also there is a plate that goes on top of the struts that contain the springs are you running the stock one still?

I got all new stock components when I replaced the suspension. Basically just put the new struts in with the springs. The plates, nuts, were all OEM and new though.

The adjustment is a simple turn of a ****. Most people will keep the same setting once they find one that they like. Those who race their street cars may change the setting for the race weekend, but then change it back to the street setting. Either way, you will not likely spend much time adjusting the dampers after the first day.

The Illumina front/rear and the AGX front dampers have the adjuster on the top of the damper so that it is easy to adjust with a screwdriver after you open the hood or rear hatch. The AGX rears have a **** adjuster near the bottom of the damper so that you can adjust them with the rear speakers in place, but you need to reach under the car to reach the adjuster. Therefore, the AGX dampers are easier to adjust if your car still has rear speakers in the stock location, while the Illuminas are easier to adjust if the rear speakers are removed as would be the case with a race car. Both are designed for street/autocross and light track racing, both are popular RX-7 mods, and both have a lifetime warranty. In my opinion, both are better options than buying crappy $900 Korean "coilovers" (K-Sport, D2, etc.).

do you really need adjustable shocks? if you don't plan on tracking/autocrossing the car then there is no need.

i recommend tokico HP and tanabe springs.
