shifter shaking?

My shifter shakes like crazy all the time, it barely does it when im accelerating though. My car is a 90 GTU, and no, it doesnt have a short shifter, i would like to put one on, but i read that it vibrates in like 1 out of 3 cars, so that would suck if it did in mine.

It doesnt bother me much but ive noticed that the rpm needle like shakes when the shifter shakes, so that doesnt seem like a good thing to me, anyone know what causes that?

Shifter bushings are more than very likely shot. They cost like $17 shipped from www.mazdatrix.com

Is the idle real rough?
Is the shifter feel loose or sloppy at all, like you can move it up and down? If it feels like that then the shifter bushings are in bad shape, but I dont know that that causes it to shake like you described. Just a thought.

Bushings and Royal Purple 85W synthiyic gear lube fixed my notchy shifting. I actuall thought that my tranny was messed up because it was so smooth after!!
