I think we have all tried to find one , with no success . 65 dollars isn't too bad in comparison to the time you'll spend trying to find a cheaper replacement

There have been guys in the past who make custom ones, find the right supplier/online store and you might get a better price or something different that you want more.

You could always go to junk yards and look for a car with a rubber shift boot then cut it to size...I used one out of a old mustang

its worth it! makes the difference between driving a POS and a nice car. you'll wonder why you waited so long.

oh you should also replace the little boot on the trans, that leaks, and then the gear oil just eats the $60 boot, and then the vinyl shifter boot.

Just replaced mine. Got the boot and plate that bolts to the top of the shifter rod housing for $26 from the dealer. Reasonable price me thinks.

Also I replaced the upper and lower bushings for the shifter ball. Shifting feels so much better now. About $10 each. Again reasonable.

I actually ended up ordering one at a local mazda dealer. I don't remember how much I paid (was a year ago) but I know it was considerably less than Mazdatrix.

If this is for the 3 boot set, I would just buy it from your dealer. Remember that your time has some value too. You may also want to get a quote from another nearby dealer and if it's cheaper, tell West Covina to match it. I've done it and 9 times out of ten it works.
