Shift ****

I am shallow and weak willed. I have been through two blue universal shift ***** and the same thing has happened to both. I grab second hard and the damn thing comes off in my hand. One of my Honda buddies has a Honda shift **** that threads on to the factory threads. I have been unable to locate any info on this kind of product for the RX. Does anyone know of a threaded after market shift ****? Mazdaspeed? I dislike the factory because the linkage seems to twist inward. The front is always pointing center. It seems to arc in from 1st or 5th.

Thanx in advance.

They screw on? I thought those were all sleeved with those little allen head screws.

I'm not sure what u mean by "sleeved with little allen screws"....but my Razo comes with hole in the bottom of the shifter, then the kit includes a few sizes of plastic inserts to match the diameter of the shifter. the plastic screws into the shift **** hole on the bottom, the shift **** then screws onto the shifter.

I know that sounds really confusing, but I dont know how to better describe it.

Most of the universals have a plastic sleeve that fits the bottom on the shift ****, slides onto the shifter and is attatched to the shifter with little allen screws that clamp the shaft.

That's what I don't want.

Well, I only know my Razo, but it just screws the plastic sleeve on. No allen screw on the shifter to clamp anything. It holds very tight, I've had it for about 2 yrs.

My Momo Tomahawk has 3 allen head screws that are used to reinforce It on the stick shift. Fits super snug. When I placed It on, It was ridiculously high. So I cut half an Inch off the top. It sits lower than the stock one. Oh, I hear you on the hot ****. Burn baby burn.

The logo on the Victoria British is the fender logo from the gen 1. Probably wasn't ugly in '79, but sure as hell is now.

I started with wood ****, drilled it deeper a size smaller than the shifter threads, so it would screw on tighter & shorter. Now it's rock solid, short & cool.
(That's a short piece of heater hose under it.)

To make it even better, I shortened the shifter threads by 3/4" & tapped out the set screw to 1/4-20. The 1" piece of heater hose hides the set screw and insulated the metal ring.

I got the Momo Millenium Aluminum/Leather Sphere, and -as all Momos- it grabs onto the stick with three allen bolts.

I just cut off 3cm of the stock stick, placed the little rubber "hat", screwed on the **** with the allens, and the **** is as tight as they can get. Had some pretty hard shifts to 2nd, never felt the **** even twitch....

If you are THAT ****, you can drill three little holes in the exact spot that the three little allens are going to touch the shaft....

That's nice. I need that setup.

I'd ereally like one with some blue on it, but just out of curiosity, how much are you asking?
