Is the "shift buzzer" affected by temperature? Just wondering because my 89 GTUs buzzer is very inconsistant as to when it goes off.
When temps are hot out, it will start buzzing around 7200 RPM. When it's cool out (Below 70 degrees) it won't sound till 8000 RPM.
Just curious... Thanks.

For example: I was driving the car in 75-80 degree weather. The buzzer was constantly sounding at 7500 RPM. It started to rain and the outside temperature dropped to about 70 degrees. Once it started raining, the shift buzzer started going off at 7900-8000 RPM.

I'll have to pay attention to the speedo the next time the buzzer goes off.

There are solder joints on the back of the tach, take a look and if you have some soldering skills you can remove the old solder and flow new solder into it.
My buzzer was not going off for a while. After doing this it started working like new.
