Severe hesitation problems

Okay, the car has been acting up for a while, but I've just dealt with it, seeing as I don't really have much of a choice. That aside, the car hesitates like crazy when I hit the gas, but it's perfectly fine as soon as it gets done hesitating. No loss of power, it runs just fine, as long as I don't let off the gas. Once I let off the gas, it's done anything from going back to idle, all the way to stalling itself out completely. And once I hit the gas again, it starts hesitating again. Sometimes it'll fluctuate the RPM's to between 2K and up 4K anywhere from 2 seconds up to 30 seconds or more. It has no problems once the RPM's get above 4K, but anywhere below that and it has problems.

I'm thinking this problem is TPS related, but adjusting the screw on top of the throttle body has only achieved 1 to 2 day solutions to this problem. The idea came to me today that it could possibly be caused by my spark plugs needing changed. I've no idea when the last time they were changed was, but I know it was before I bought the car, and I've had it for about 1½ years now, approximately 18K miles put on it. Does anyone know if the sparks could be causing this, or anything else it could be?

No. Not the fuel pump me thinks. I suggest you go to your TPS and unplug it. Then go for a drive. Does the car now act different???

Screw on top of the throttle body??????? Are you referring to the tps screw?

But on the whole, to me it sounds like a tps with a bad pot. REmoving it and going for a drive might give you a hint.

Before you buy another fuel pump......replace the fuel filter located just below the Trail coil area by about a foot or so. Then go and remove your fuel pump from the tank. It has a mesh filter on its bottom. Remove and replace it ....or soak it in acetone overnight and blow it out and reinstall it.

Another thought is the vacuum line to the pressure/boost sensor. If you have replaced it recently, then you might have left out the plastic orifice located inside it about a inch from one end of the hose.
