No, that's just a shifter, you'd still need to use the clutch.

They come as an option on any Ferrari now (the paddle shifter was Ferrari's design odly enough).

the problem with the ikeya shifter is they are made for RHD cars and the shifter is tilted to the right.

so if you got one for a LHD car it would be easy for passanger to shift for you. but he would have warn ya to use the clutch.

as far as I know they dont make then for the FC I have seen them in FD and the shifter sits almost as high as the top of steering wheel.

A friend of mine wired his dsm to disengage throttle when he steps on the clutch. The clutch is wired to the ecu (cuts boost when throttle is depressed) anyway so I know it can be done. Great mod for drag racing, just keep it floored.

DrJones, thats friggin awesome, but how does the ecu cut boost? Are the WG's electronically controlled on those?

DSM's have an electronic connection to the throttle? I'd be very surprised at that..

The clutch has a connection to the ecu, like you have to depress the clutch to start, wont make boost when the clutch is depressed (opens wastgate) etc.. Someone on the DSM site wired a gizmo ( a relay to the tps I guess) that works off the clutch signal. Works excellent for drag racing, just keep it floored even when shifting.

Why would it shift faster?

You can't shift any faster than the transmission (synchros) will let you. Anything that doesn't alter the synchros in some way, will have no effect on shift speed.

Yeah instead of driver error, you have more chance of mechanical faliure instead from all the **** that the shifter has to use.
