Question Sensor on rotor housing possibly J-spec?

Hey all I know I have been bombarding you with tons of threads recently following my buying an S5 TII but I was doing some clean up(READ throwing all the acc's out the door) and saw this above the #1 T plug:

A friend thinkgs it might be from a J-spec engine or rotor housing but I don't know nor does he for sure.

Not a jspec, but a rebuild it looks like. Those temp sensors between the plugs are aftermarket. Generally high end rebuilders use those for warranty protection which does not include overheating.

BTW, that is the stock s5 setup, regardless of whether or not its a jspec.

Agreed on the temp sensor. I found a rebuilt turbo 1g DSM (had some hand engraved rebuild dates on the block) engine in the junk yard with the same temp sensor on the rear of the block. The stock 1g DSM engine does not have the same sensor on it.

I'm pretty sure we have established that it is a stock s5 knock sensor that came both on US and jspec engines.

Most of your questions (including this one) could've been answered by reading the FSM...

Granted yes I could have been able to search for the answers but I am posting this stuff while I am on a water break or taking a rest from wrenching. I would rather just ask the question and come back in an hour or so and have someone that had the time and was willing to help answer the question off the top of their heads and make it easier for me. Yes its selfish to want others to do your research but if you aren't here to help others then what are you here to do?
