Ignition key on, Ignition key off, lock all the doors with the latch lock switch (the inside the door lock switch), Close any open doors while holding the outside handle up, it will arm after 1 minute or so.

Remember to disarm the factory alarm, you need the key in a door turned to unlock. Won't disarm using the key in the ignition.

Humm, I can get my security light to come on... but if i open a door without the key, and stick the key in the ignition it starts... What is the "security" part of this?

You will hear a beep noise when you lock the door then close the door and a minute later the light will flash.

Yeah, got that far... it arms correctly. Its just if i reach in the window and unlock the door, stick the key in the ignition it will start right up. Doesnt seem like much "security" to me. Whats the function of this security? Thanks

I dont know if it goes off that way being that if you lock the door on the inside and stay inside you don't want the alarm. It has to be opened by the handle on the outside.

If the system is armed and you unlock any door from the inside, the alarm wil go off.

Alarm arming: Get out of the car after a drive, lock the driver's door from the inside (you will hear a beep. If you do not, troubleshoot the system.) Hold the driver's door handle up as you close that door. Wait 5 seconds for the system to arm, you'll hear another beep verifying that the system is armed. And you're done. If you unlock either door from the inside or if the trunk or hood latch is tampered with, the alarm will be set off.

when you say the alarm will "go off". What does it do? Mine does nothing when you have the alarm armed, and open a door from the inside... When i get out of the car and push the drivers inside lock down i hear a beep, but there is never a second beep. The light comes on solid for a few seconds and then starts flashing. Is this how its suppose to work?

Should be armed. When it goes off the horn and all the lights start going off and on. Its pretty loud.

If you do not hear the second beep, then there is a problem with the system.

You can pull the 60 amp yellow fuse second to the bottom in the fuse panel in the engine compartment.

again to disarm, you must turn the key in the door to unlock.

Hmm, I must have a one of a kind.....

A certain person from this board rebuilt my cpu. IT's better then it was , but still is not as it should be, according to all you rx guys.
(91 NA vert)

MY security light Flashes even if the alarm is NOT armed. I do not know why. The alarm will not go off if you open a door though( top down, doors locked, you can reach in and open a door from the inside)

If I do arm the alarm , it will go off if you open the doors from the inside as it should.

I'm not nit picking or anything, but I think there are wires crossed in my cpu. It actually was 'rebuilt' twice , the second time there's way way less crossed signals and weird things happening.

But even with both seatbelts buckled, the seatbelt light still flashes on the dash.
Before I buckle the drivers belt, it also beeps, so at least that beep stops once I buckle up. I have tried to disconnect the little switches from the seatbelt 'buckle', but it still does this. I've even put jumpers in those wires to see if that would stop it. But it didn't. So I just hooked them back up and have this little flashing red thing telling me to buckle up!

There were also a few other things with it, such as the Alarm going off, but for me, it does not stop when you put the key in the door, only when you start the car( or at least turn the ignition to 'on)

I don't know what's up, but I must have the screwyist cpu out there! But I know for fact that opening the door with the key( yes the main key, not the valet ket[tried that one too!!] ) does not turn off the alarm. I have to put the key in the ignition to make it turn off.

Pretty weird, and I know I've really confused you all now!

What gives?
Are there Gremlins in my car?
Or is it more like Demons?

( almost ready to name the car 'christine' for obvious reasons)

FC's have got to have some really crappy wiring!

I have the same problem....

As well for no reason whatsoever my stock alarm will start going off randomly.sometimes when I lock up my car it will not arm (beep when I lock the doors). Any ideas on how to fix this or how to remove the alarm all together. Also I removed the "security" light from the center console. I know is a stretch but would that have anything to do with it?

sounds like there are other issues besides the CPU, but if I did it feel free to send it back in and I will check it out again.

The 90-91 vert FC66 CPU ws the worst one made, and you can often have one rebuilt, test fine on the bench, have problems in the car. Most problems related to the Ford airbag integration and funky turn signals in the car, rather than the CPU.

And the key in the ignition should never ever disable the factory alarm. If it does then I would be double checking for problems with an aftermarket security system that has been integrated into the car.

Ok, I got my alarm to "go off" but I could not disarm the alarm by unlocking the drivers door with the key. Why is that? I had to pull a battery terminal to get it to quit honkin/blinkin. Any ideas?

the wiring in the door is still there... and im sure its good. BUT, the door light switch on the drivers side of the car is missing. The dome light will only work with the passenger side. So, to arm the alarm, i have turned the key on, then off... Opened the passenger door, locked the drivers side inside lock, closed the passenger side door holding the outside door handle up... This successfully arms the alarm.

I then unlocked the passenger side door from the inside lock, and opened the door. The alarm went off. I stuck the key in the drivers side door and unlocked it, and it didnt turn the alarm off. Does the dome light have something to do with disarming the alarm? what if i unlocked the drivers side door from the outside, and then opened the passenger side door so the dome light would turn on??? Would this make it shut off?

So, your saying if the alarm is "going off" then unlocking the drivers side door with the key will disarm it? You dont have to actually open the door, just unlock it? If so, that would mean there is something wrong with my drivers side lock....

Just unlock the drivers door from the outside and open the door. If it still goes off then there is something wrong with the lock.
