Second thoughts! (again)
Hi,
I might be picking up a 1988 GXL on thursday but my main concern popped into my head last night when I thought about rebuilding the engine. The car has 162,xxx miles on it and I know that it will probably need a rebuild around 200,000 miles. So heres my problem I dont really have a place to rebuild the engine and living in newengland there is basically no one to work on these cars accept the owner. I spotted a 1996 s14 with the KA24DE engine for sale and I was thinking about checking that out but I dont know how well the KA handles spirited driving. Could somone help me!

i beg to differ. the ka24de is a very good engine and if you single it then you get very good performance out of it. most people dont like it and say( thats a truck engine!) but i know alot of people who have tuned ka's and have gotten very good results

But come on...theres no comparing a KA24det to a SR20det or even to a CA18det...the KA does belong in Nissan Frontiers as it has more low end torque and less high end power. The SR and CA were actually meant to be turbo...I think that says a lot.
