Exclamation Second Gear Grind

hey im just wondering if there is anyone out there that has problems shifting up and down to second gear. like when you start up your car and start driving second gear will grind till about driving around the block, then smoothes out on its own.

is this the syncros, or like does it need lube, or just need to warm up or what?

When was the last time you changed your transmission oil? It may be all crudded up in there. Mine grinds whenever I'm decellerating in 2nd. Mostly because of abuse by the previous owner. If you've got a TII tranny in there, I've heard those are perty beefy. Check your tranny oil level and condition. If you don't know when it was replaced last, change it out with some good synthetic stuff, like redline.

ya i used to have crappy generic tranny oil from when i had my clutch replaced. i used to have harder shifts and when the tran was cold it use to clunk when i shifted. i replaced it with redline mt-90. it made my tranny happy. smoother shifts and no more clunks
