So I installed a block off plate when I put the new engine in.

It's slowly developed a leak and it's now very progressive.

I used the rubber oring and RTV around it.

Any tips on how to get this thing to seal perfectly?

 

The oring and RTV Ultra Black usually work.

 

cork gasket material and RTV black. no leaks yet.

 

if you use the o-ring it may warp the plate, there is no groove in the block off plate so do not use the o-ring. i just use RTV ultra black or anaerobic sealant and have no problems.

 

gasket paper and RTV....good ol' gasket paper.....

I have RTV and paper gasket paper

 

Pulled it off and thr Oring some how got pushed off center and pretty much left a direct path to leak out the side.

Threw on a piece of gasket paper and liberal amounts of RTV and so far no leak
