Screwed up taking the manifold off
Screwed up taking the manifold off
Ok, so I was gonna finish up taking the lower manifold off. I took off the four "spider" vacuum lines and was trying to remember how I got the oil injectors out of the manifold. I try using pliers and twist them and hear a snap
I look at the injector and everything seems fine.........till I noticed I snapped an oil line leading to it. SUcks, those lines were completly rock hard. So what do I do now? Where can I get a new line from? how do I replace them? And how do I get the injector out of the manifold?

ahh, you got my hopes up when I saw someone replying to my thread lol. I was gonna be done completly with the car tomorrow morning and enjoy it till tues when im leaving for NY. Now I guess I have to order parts from Mazda again which are gonna cost me an arm and a leg and be a bitch to install. Hopefully someone can tell me otherwise.

umm.. was it the Clear line? or the Black line? bc if its the black line, get a regular vac line and replace it, if its the clear one.. they are like 20 or so bucks a peice from mazda.. good luck homes
Yes, the factory ones are $20 per line for the series 5 cars. i assume they are not much off that.
i can possibly go cheaper.
stay away from vac hose as a repair.
At the very least, thats just the wrong attitude tward fixing your car if you intend to fix it.

Yea thats true. Id just like to get it all up and running and I cant believe I screwed up when everything was going so smooth already. This was the clear line I snapped. When I purchase new ones how do I secure them (it) back on the oil injector? Theres a metal clamp on the end. BTW- Does anyone know how to get the oil injector off the manifold?
Sniper X: I would buy them off you but im leaving to NY really soon and gonna be gone for a while and Id liek to get this leak solved before I go.

if you will remove the injector, you will see there are collars on the ends.

scary actually.

Well im leaving on tues. and Id like to fix everything done before I go instead of leaving work for myself when I get back. This is my 2nd time opening up the manifold and the first time they werent this brittle. Do you know how I can get the injector off the manifold??
A thin 14mm wrench. If you don't have a thin one, grind the one you have down to size. There's other ways to go on the oil line. The hardware store down the block has Fuel line. 3/16OD and 3/32 ID. Use .020 copper wire to twist tie at each end. Don't have .020 copper wire? Get some 12ga electrical wire and strip it down and use the strands as the tie on each end.
