Sandblast and paint suspension parts?

Sandblast and paint suspension parts?

I plan on installing new bushings in the next 2 months and had an idea. Would it be benficial to take all the control arms and other suspension related parts and have them sandblasted clean and painted? Maybe some sort of sealer paint to prevent more surface rust?

I dont really see any gain besides it would look awesome and clean. I like clean chassis.

Good old gloss black Rustoleum works great. It just takes a day for it to dry. After a little while it turns to a semi-gloss or matte finish but it holds up great. It's the next best thing to powder coating.

Well, if you want it too look nice then do it. If you have rust problems in VA then you should do it. Personally I hate nasty, rusty parts even on the underside of my car.

That's what we're doing for everything on the underside of Dad's 85 GS that we're restoring over here.. The more rust removed, the better.

i think i might powder coat a couple things when i take everything down undernetah and put in poly bushings etc, wont be for a while, but thats my plan

I've heard its worth it though, and i want to get all mushiness out of my car, the cut top doesn't help (gotta get some vert parts in there and roll bar extensions that god along the sides of the seats)

I powdercoat anything that will fit in the oven. Everything else gets a rust proofing primer and an epoxy coat If I strip the underbody, it gets the above and a coat of truck bed liner. Works well and is easy to clean.
