Sandblast and paint suspension parts?
Sandblast and paint suspension parts?
I plan on installing new bushings in the next 2 months and had an idea. Would it be benficial to take all the control arms and other suspension related parts and have them sandblasted clean and painted? Maybe some sort of sealer paint to prevent more surface rust?
Good old gloss black Rustoleum works great. It just takes a day for it to dry. After a little while it turns to a semi-gloss or matte finish but it holds up great. It's the next best thing to powder coating.

I powdercoat anything that will fit in the oven. Everything else gets a rust proofing primer and an epoxy coat If I strip the underbody, it gets the above and a coat of truck bed liner. Works well and is easy to clean.
