Same problem like the one described...

I´m reading for orientation, to put my engine on.
And I found this post :
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/%2A%2A%2A%2A%2Aomg-i-bet-you-guys-never-seen-anything-like-before-%2A%2A%2A%2A-445122/
My car is identical than wich was described here.
I´m having the same problem to start the engine.
The ECU number is the same. The serial number is just 18 numbers more.
I suppose both are from the same series.
I will apreciate more orientations.

the butterfly sagging open thing? that's not a problem when the engine is warm, it's normal operation.

sorry but i'm not reading a novel from 5+years ago.

I could understand that this topic could be old. And maybe not very interesting for some people.

But I´m having the same problem today. My car is not working since the last 8 days.
And the car quoted in this topic it´s seems to be identical than mine. That´s why I put the reference. It´s hard for me to describe the differential features of my car, in comparison with the North American series that you know perfectly, which are very well described in the first message of this topic.

Thats why I think coud be a good idea to quote the topic:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=445122

I´m trying to find some ideas from anyone who knows this different series of cars.

I don´t speak english and never studied this language formally.
Sorry if this is something that could offend the members of this forum.

The most important details are: (I´m quoting)

the engine it self appears to be an S4 Engine... it has S4 flap door MAF, and metal neck for the coolant hose.. on the top of the intake manifold is written 13B injection
but rather then a CAS.. it has a DISTRIBUTOR! staring u back in the face... exactly like the FB's GSL-SE!
no pressure/map sensor (obviously cuz it's got no CAS)
the ECU is UNHEARD OF!
N368! the whole website turned up one result on this ecu # (and that led no where) the plugs are the same the S4 tho...
it's all OEM, not some weird transplant/hybrid...
very very strange..

Thank you for your interest.

what problem is it having? no start?

start by checking to see if it is getting fuel pressure and then spark, if those are good move on to a compression test.

if everything checks out good then you may have to remove the injectors and test them manually with whatever is driving the injector timing signal(i have to guess it is generated off a magnetic pickup in the distributor like the CAS on the second gens) by removing the distributor and spinning it while the ignition is on and the injectors are strapped to the fuel rails.

Karack,

He is having the same problem Ottoman's FC had, basically, his injectors aren't opening for some reason.

We basically cannot find the injector relay in his car... it seems like there isn't one, or at least it isn't located where it's usually in American FC's...

the power for the injectors on the FC comes from the main relay behind the LF strut tower in the driver's corner of the engine bay on the inside of the fender, a large gold box(although in some manuals it is listed as being in front of the radiator but i have never seen this true).

you can also check to see if it is getting power manually by disconnecting the injectors and turning the ignition on and testing both side of the connector for voltage.

if it's getting power to the ignition then i would assume it is getting power to the injectors, the FC main relay powers up both the ignition and the injection system through the same relay connection. i realize this may not be true in this case but it is someplace to start.

pictures of some of the things on the car for reference may help diagnose it.

The car was working perfectly till last saturday.. Somo road tests show that could reach 185 km/h perfectly.
We made the compression test before to bought it.
The fuel pump works OK. We have fuel in the inyectors rails.
The faillure was suddenly.
The ignition distributor an it´s cables are brand new.
Thank you very much for your sugestions.
