s5 vert top switch into 54 vert switch??

I have a s5 (90vert) and I am wondering if anybody has ever decided to change there converible top set up in to the 54 set up.. where the switch to make your top go up and down is right above the wiper switch. my top switch is next to the fog light switch. I just like the set up where that is and since i removed my curise control i can put that switch there..

yeah, you would just run the wires up to the dash and replace the existing wiper switch with an 88-89 vert one.

yes and no... it would take me 25-30 minutes, if you do not have any auto skills or are drinking beer while doing it; it could take half a day.

If you can replace a radio, you can probably replace the wiper switch with no problems.

There are 5 screws for the gauge surround, three across the top, two at the corners at the bottom, unscrew those and the screws for the steering wheel column surround.

Then remove the steering column surround, pull the gauge surround out a couple of inches, unplug the 3 or 4 plugs (3 if you do not have cruise control) that are in the middle back of the 3 (or 4) switches.

Then carefully slide the surround between the dash and the steering wheel (note on some S5 models without tilt wheel you may also need to remove the steering wheel).

Then remove the two screws for the cruise control or cruise control filler panel (or locking panel on 90-91 convertibles), remove the panel or cruise control switch. Unscrew the two screws on the wiper switch assembly. Pop off all the *****, remove the wiper switch from the gauge surround and replace as needed.
