I had it before I needed to smog my car. The VDI takes advantage of the pressure wave reflections in the motor so if you have ALLthe parts, its a good weekend project.

But from your(thread starter) previous recent posts, you dont seem to have a handle on your car yet so I would recommend no, do not attempt this just yet.

It adds 15 dyno-proven HP - check this page for the dyno runs by Silver88GXL:

The S4 LIM reportedly flows better than the S5 LIM, so the ideal (though more work) method is S5 UIM in S4 LIM.

To be clear, this is definitely not a cosmetic modification, even though the S5 UIM looks better than the S4 dynamic chamber in my opinion. For those who want more background, check the FC Innovation page under the heading "Self Supercharging."

Anyone who sets the 2 sets of intakes next to each other, and tries to call it cosmetic, is a MORON. The differences in the manifold designs is CRAZY, the S5 is SO much better. I don't know who at Mazda designed the S4 manifolds, but they should have never been used.

lupin: yup, I had to cut that pipe to get the solenoid in there. I didn't have the valve anymore anyway. I'm surprised you caught that, I can barely see it in the photo myself! I guess that's something I left out of the how-to; time to fix that.
(He's talking about the Electronic VDI page)
