I am wondering if the creep is due to a restriction between the dump pipe and the wastegates themselves.... Looking at the adapter plate and the turbo housing doesn't look like much room to open hardly any. It could be just from the pictures though. Other than that, it looks good man..

Its kind of a combination of both the wastegate hole being small, and the wastegate flapper not being able to open much. If I recal, I think there is only 7mm of travel for the wastegate flapper to open before it hits that backplate. I did backcut into the plate some, it can maybe open an extra mm or 2 now.

Im gonna throw this pic out here now as well. This was my old S4 housing, that the wastegate had been ported as large as possible with the stock flapper. I dont have any measurements at this time, but I cant fit my thumb in the hole on the ported S4 wastegate ( I have fat thumbs ), while I can fit my thumb in bothholes of the S5.

I just ported my S5 J-spec turbo yesterday.
Very similar to your job.

Something else - I took some excess material off the back side of the flapper so it can open wider..

No, the dump tube makes the stock wastegate act like an external one...sort of. By completely isolating the wastegate from the rest of the exhuast, it is now vented directly outside, instead of having to merge back in with the rest of the exhaust gas. Most external wastegates are open-vented this way.

I wouldnt advise it. You are going to get a ton of metal shavings in there, I wouldnt think it would be very good for the turbo to leave them in. I like to wash the exhaust housing out when done porting.

After porting I brought the turbo to the gas station and used the compressed air to blow out all the shavings.
