S5 Turbo Ii, Yes Or No?
I've got the oppurtunity to get a 89 TII with a few problems. Its missing some minor interior pieces, and the motor has been parted out a little. Its basically a complete car, with about 80k on the chasis. Needs hood, front bumper, maybe fenders. Title is salvage. I could probably pick it up fairly cheap, but am not sure it would be worth the effort of fixing because of the title. However, I wouldnt be selling it anytime soon. Would you buy it, or just wait and get a drivable car? Just looking for opinions.

dont pay money for that car. That's the type of car you get as a hand me down. I'm assuming by the motor has been parted out statement that it's not running now. If it's just missing a couple panels, buy it for a couple hundred. That's if it's running. That's my 2cents

motor is missing injectors, intercooler and all piping, intake elbow. i believe all the electronics and sensors are there. the radio surround, shifter surrund and boot, and gauge surround are missing. it needs new seats, one is gone, other is junk. needs hood, front bumper cover and reinforcements, turbo lip, also needs mirrors and tail lights. i know where i can get the interior pieces cheap or free, so that doesn't worry me much. a front bumper isnt that hard to get, i know where there are at least 2. the hood is what worries me most, because of shipping costs if i have to buy one online. i think that $600 at most is good for it, but then again, i know that s5's aren't that common either. as far as time goes, i have plenty of it, id be purchasing it as a project/weekend/evening driver for the spring/summer months. i know that the motor only has about 80k on it, along with the rest of the vehicle but I was considering getting a JDM S5 just incase, then either keeping the original motor, or parting it out to help finance the project. i guess my main concerns are the hood which is a minimal thing, and the fact that it has a salvage title. thanks for all your input, i think im going to get her though, i just can't resist having a s5 TII.

hes said he would take $700 for it, will take less possibly. he has about 7 or 8 RX-7's and a lot of parts. he is a mechanic by trade, he guarntees it will run. he is willing to toss in some other pieces as well. car was previously running a t04 s5 hybrid with a front mount and other mods, about 4-5 months ago. car also has a hood, i was mistaken. i might offer 600 or 650, i think thats a fairly good deal for a car that i can get most of the parts to finish almost free or free. thanks again for all your help and opinions. hopefully ill be the owner of a black s5 turbo II real soon...lol
