S5 turbo 2 ECU...

Hello all, I have just found a really good deal on a s5 t2 motor and tranny and I am thinking about swapping it into my 88gxl. But I would like to know if I could use my same wiring harness or not.( i think not) but I need to make sure...

Not really. It's the electric OMP that shoots you in the foot. It, the OMP, needs the series five ECU. The series five ECU's jacks won't accept the series four harness plugs.

It's doable if you put the series four turbo front cover on with the series four OMP and then use a series four turbo ECU with your n/a harness.

or premix (uggh!) and use the series four turbo ECU. MINOR corrections to the n/a harness would have to be made. One/maybe two wires.

Plugs don't fit into the ECU.

PLEASE READ THE FAQ STICKIES AT THE TOP OF THE LIST.

The harness that attaches to the fuel injectors, ECU etc is the emissions harness. If you buy a series five turbo emissions harness , it may fit the series five ECU but it won't interface with the FRONT harness unless you make major changes to the FEM-01 and FEM-02 plugs/wiring.

If you don't change/rewire the Front/Emission harness plugs, then you'd have to replace the Front harness along with the series five turbo harness.

Just FYI.
