S5 t2 SMOG Pump
Will an S4 T2 Smog pump work on an S5 T2? I know an N/A won't because of the different port on the back. Turbo one has a 90 Degree bend and an N/A has a straight ouutlet. I can't find one anywhere and I don't want to use the JDM version because of the size difference and mounting bracket.
You mentioned not wanting to use a JDM pump, but they work just fine. I've never had problems passing smog with one. The pulley is smaller, so it actually pumps faster. You do have to get the matching bracket too.
I wouldn't suggest trying to adapt an NA air pump. The location just doesn't work with where the bracket puts it.

I suppose if it comes to that, I can use a JDM with a bracket change, then all I have to do is figure out what belt to use as I can't use a stock one because of the difference in pully size. Then the only question would be if the volume of air going to the ACV is the same and how much effect it would have on getting it smogged.

i've never noted a difference between the S4 and S5 turbo smog pumps so it should work. the bracket is different though due to the water neck being in a different location.

Goodyear Gatorback 15371 is the correct size belt for a JDM pump.

I am not a cali resident and as such dont know their smog laws to the T, but as I understand it one of the things they check for is o2% in the exhaust to see if you're diluting the mix. I would assume if you're diluting it too much they can/would fail you on those grounds.
It'd probably be a red flag if your results came up with something like 10% O2 at the tailpipe, but there's no official spec for O2 percentage. It just comes up on the printout. In my case, I'm talking about ~2% O2, which suggests the cat is seeing more than enough from the pump.
i run my TII with a non turbo smog pump plumbed right to the main cat, smog test levels are very similar to california and i never saw the O2 level that excessive even without all the restrictions from the ACV system.

the second is a bit weird, but since the air pump air goes to the exhaust ports, it actually gets sucked into the next intake stroke, so the air pump air is a small source for idle air, this is why the idle drops when you remove the airpump/acv.

Has anyone found a good direct fit converter system that will pass CA and actually be purchasable or shippable to CA? I can't see spending a couple of grand on all the coverters needed for this state to pass smog, just so I can get a base sticker on the car. Our family is military and the car is registered in Montana but to get a sticker to get on base, it has to pass smog. What of rip off!
