banzai racing sells blockoff plates for really cheap.. like under $30.. Yeah pretty much remove the emmisions bs, plug off the manifold nipples from the rats nest, and remove all the emmsions control valves, including the main rats nest... use rtv sealant on the block off plates and bolt it in... remove smog air pump and bracket and your set...

Ok I just did this emissions delete process and now my car smokes like a freight train and spits flames at idle. I couldn't really work on it much with it running bc it's after 11:30 at night and I'm sure the neighbors hate me right now. Also my car got a lil louder. It wants to stall at first until it warms up by then the idle jumps up and down a few hundred rpm. I'm sure everything thing is connected and tight but something doesn't seem right. Any ideas or advice? How did your cars run once you did the emissions delete?

No I didn't...But I think I've solved my problem. I'll see here in a lil' while when I go to lunch.

Just in case I still have trouble tho, whats the TB mod do if you do it? Will it fix my problem from what I've described?

that writeup shows you how to eliminate all the emissions and idle control systems on your car, but it was not intended to be a technical discussion of what each system does and the tradeoffs to removing them. for example, the ACV (has an anti-afterburn valve designed to eliminate backfiring/flames on deceleration when the cat and airpump are installed. any modification to the throttlebody coolant hose (fast idle system) or the BAC valve itself will hurt idle quality. that's why parts of that writeup say "assuming you are removing the BAC valve..." indicating that some people do in fact choose to keep it.

it's not uncommon for people to remove systems that mazda incorporated to make the car drive better (BAC valve and dashpot systems to prevent stalling), and then wonder why their car now idles funny or has some other such problem.

anyway, on to your problem. Did you check your TPS first? don't just go and do the TB mod now. It's certainly not going to help driveability at all--it actually removes systems that were designed to make a car drive more smoothly around town.

No I wasn't planning on doing the TB mod anyways. So your saying if I put the BAC valve back on, I should have a smoother idle? Now that is the valve with the coolant line for the bottem of the filler neck going to it, correct? And also a line going to the TB.

the BAC should be on the upper intake manifold, located right above where the ACV use to be...shouldnt be any coolant lines going to it. you might be mistaking the one the coolant goes to as the thermowax valve which is located on the side of your TB.

the BAC has a coolant line running through it. its right above the ACV. it has one going from the front to the BAC then from the BAC to the TB.

You should always keep the bac valve. You can ditch everything else. "Keep the secondary throttle plates though" you can always bypass the coolant to the bac valve and also the fast idle if you delete it if you want and run a hose from the front to rear irons
