Question S5 to S4 radio swap question

Hey I just bought an s4 radio/cassete player and it doesn't match up at all to the stock s5 radio harness in my car. Can anyone give me any info on where to find which is what on the two radios so I can splice in the replacement s4 radio into my S5? I've already checked the FSM diagrams and can't make heads or tails with them. Please someone help me.

You would have to get the plugs for the S5 radio to hook it into a S4.

then its just match the colors.

buy a damn aftermarket CD player, they are cheap as hell and sooo much better, esp if it is mp3/wma compatible

I paid $15 for this S4 radio which I thought was a straight swap into my '90 gxl so I didn't have to mess with the splicing but I guess I didn't read up on it enough. Oh and I wouldv'e bought a aftermarket CD player but I'm about to sell this car and just need something in there that works decently, so I don't want to put that much more money into a car I'm about to sell. I thought this was going to be a quick fix... Thanks for the info guys. The radio wires are exactly the same colors in S4 to S5? Thats a little strange.

The radio wire colors are the same, and found in the FAQ for FC sticky thread at the top of this section

If it's a higher-end S4 radio, some are actually pretty nice, but only the ones with the equalizer. I like mine so much I spliced an aux input into the headunit so I can plug in my MiniDisc player.
