S5 pulsation dampener????
Okay i've read just about every thread on pulsation dampeners ever created.
i am removing my intake this weekend to clean a stuck 5th port sleeve. While i am down there i'll check the pulsation dampener but every thread i read was about S4's dampeners failing. Anyone heard of an S5 failing. What i am wondering with my car having over 100,000 miles on it should i go and put a 200 dollar primary fuel rail on it while i have it apart??? I am Not considering the banjo bolt mod. Just want to know any experiences with S5 dampeners failing??
Thanks,
micah

you sure read every thread? banjo bolt mod cannot be done with a s5 rail because the s5s have the pulsation dampeners welded onto the fuel rail. It is possible for them to fail, but it's much rarer, and I believe they don't leak fuel all over the place like the s4 ones do.
S5 PD's leak just the same as S4 ones (in fact I have seen more S5 and S6 ones fail than S4 ones- but I know I am the rare one).
They also leak worse when they do go, as the rubber plug on the end usually falls off.
If it has more than 100K miles on it, just replace it.

But the FD engine compartment does run considerably hotter than the FC
