My folks live on the on the down side of a nice hill. We could pretty easily pull it to the top and roll it down. Hopefully it leaps into life, we could literally pull it right into the garage and have steam cleaning waiting. Though they live in a pretty uppity neighborhood. I can pretty easily see firetrucks being called.....but we shall see.

For now I've got a decent amount of carb cleaner soaking. If that doesn't work, we'll go from there.

It's kinda ironic that I spent all this time testing and swapping out parts, when the simplest of tests would have cut to the chase. This is my first time dealing with stuck seals and the car is so well maintained, I never imagined compression to the be the problem.

One important question, what is steam cleaning going to do to OEM cats?

cats aren't going to care about steam, it will actually loosen a bit of carbon from them. Really the only thing that will grenade a cat is a misfire.

Best of possible news, the engine turned over!!

I let carb cleaner soak for a few days. About a can in each housing. We used up a full can of starter fluid and at first I didn't think it was going to turn over. We cranked on it a decent amount and until the starter fluid was spent. It kept trying to turn over just not getting there. Then it came to life.

At first the idle was off a bit and a little choppy but after a drive to get gas and back it seems to be idling fine. My father said it had a little bit of hiccup turning over at the gas station. I took it around the block and redlined it a couple times. I turned it off and turned it back over a few times with no incident.

I'll do a little research tonight, but in the event I don't find my answer. What is the best vacuum source to steam clean on a S5 N/A?

there is 2 capped vacuum ports near the secondary injectors, use those. on the s5 i believe the front port is for the pressure sensor vacuum line.
