That is the signal that there is a problem with the charging system. The alternator's internal voltage regulator may be shot, or you could have corroded terminals, loose wiring or a loose belt. Put a volt meter on the battery/alternator B-post with the engine running. Ideally you should see about 14 volts.

All the warning lights turn on when the voltage is too high or too low. What does your cluster volt gauge say?

Voltage regulator. Replace the alternator.

Do not run the car until you get a new alternator. Overcharging can fry electronics, and on these cars anything over 15/16v can mess things up.

If you have to run the car, try turning on every electronic accessory(blower, wipers, lights, everything), and watch the voltage gauge to make sure it stays under 15v.

Yes, replace the alternator ASAP. 16 volts is dangerous, and will start to cost you.

Try turning the headlights on without the engine running. If they still don't work, you may have burned something out already (like the headlight switch or the lamps themselves).

The headlights would flip but wont turn on. I guess the bolts are blown already :\
Does it matter if i get a turbo alternator and put it on my NA?

TIIs and NAs use the same alternator within series. As long as it's not S4, it will bolt right in.

The FD alternator is rated at 100A, and the S5 is rated at 80A. The good news is the wiring is already set up for an FD alternator. The bad news is you'll need a custom pulley to use a v-belt with it (FDs use serpentine belts). The alternator shaft size is larger, so an S5 pulley can't be swapped over unless it's bored out.

FD is a WAY better option over the S5. More consistent voltage regulation, too; esp if it's new with a new regulator!
