s5 intake swap, now 2 problems major.

the car only managed to start for 5-6 sec and died, seemed like very rich. My injectors were right from sonic bath.
Now trying to get tdc.

Here is the procedure I used:
Remove both rear rotor spark plugs.
Rotate the crank until you can see an apex seal (tip of the rotor) in the trailing spark hole. The trailing plug hole is restricted, making the seal somewhat difficult to see. Use a flexible light and a mirror. When the seal is seen, mark the crank.
Rotate the crank until you see the same apex seal in the leading spark plug hole. This plug hole is not restricted, which makes it easy to see the seal. Mark the crank.
Halfway between your two marks is TDC for the front rotor (#1) rotor.

problem 1...Is This procedure for front rotor? I did it and the tdc doesnt line up with marks.why?
I dont trust my factory tdc marks because it has double on the pulley at diff places.

Are you trying to create new timing marks?

those directions are pretty straight forward. where are you getting lost?
Also why dont you use the timing marks already on the main pulley?

Problem#2: NO

Ok im lost. how to check water temp sensor?

2. the directions for tdc is for front or rear rotor? some1 mecioned rear rotor.

3. my pulley is messed up. instead of 2 marks it has 4.

I saw the apex seal in leading spark hole , i put the seal in the middle 2 holes, thats my tdc for front rotor?

found that its for the rear rotor. Guy should have wrote #2. #1 is clearly front rotor. I guess everybody makes mistakes. Stay off the grass.
