s5 engine in s4 t2 shell

Tomorrow i will be buying a shell of a 88 t2, i have a s5 gtu that the body is beat up plus has some problems with sunroof etc. what do i need to know to this swap. thanks

It all depends what the TII shell has if you have the ECU and wiring harness for the TII it makes life a whole lot easier BUT you are planning to do a 6 port N/A engine in a turbo car so that does cause some problems. Either way you decide to go NA harness n ECU or TII harness n ECU there is going to be repinning needed to make it al work correctly there is lots of info on this out there I have a thread out there that has the pinning for using a TII harness in an NA car. If you really wanted to save yourself the hassle and just get a turbo block it will make life way easier and if you do not need emissions makes the car much simpler and easier to work on.

Why not just transfer the whole GTU harness to the nicer shell?

Thats what i thought but dont know if it will work fine. like if i have to do any mods to any other harness or something

What "other" harnesses?
When I said "the whole harness", I meant just that...ALL the wiring from one car to the other.
I'm not saying that's the optimal method but it certainly eliminates any wiring issues.

the problem is this is my dd so i cant have it in the garage for a whole week, i thought this could be done in like 2 or 3 days max.
