s5 engine in s4 t2 shell
Tomorrow i will be buying a shell of a 88 t2, i have a s5 gtu that the body is beat up plus has some problems with sunroof etc. what do i need to know to this swap. thanks
It all depends what the TII shell has if you have the ECU and wiring harness for the TII it makes life a whole lot easier BUT you are planning to do a 6 port N/A engine in a turbo car so that does cause some problems. Either way you decide to go NA harness n ECU or TII harness n ECU there is going to be repinning needed to make it al work correctly there is lots of info on this out there I have a thread out there that has the pinning for using a TII harness in an NA car. If you really wanted to save yourself the hassle and just get a turbo block it will make life way easier and if you do not need emissions makes the car much simpler and easier to work on.

When I said "the whole harness", I meant just that...ALL the wiring from one car to the other.
I'm not saying that's the optimal method but it certainly eliminates any wiring issues.
