Why would you want to? (You wouldn't happen to have a red s4 tII would you? I always see that damn thing driving around in GB but I can never catch it)

You don't state a reason for wanting to do this so I assume it's because you're you're expecting more performance. There's none, don't bother.

hey sonicrat, nope i dont have a red tII, but are you in green bay a lot? (that is gb, wis). mine, unfortunately is mad ugly right now. some old guy (in his 50's) and it and painted it two tone white with yellow all the way around the middle (around the body lines) and over the roof between the door and hatch up and over. gonna be restored to pure white as soon as my friends garage is open to paint it. but it has a damn solid body for wisconsin (just some surface rust on the underbody).

nz, i just want to eliminate that stupid flapper door afm. i think it may be contributing to some idle issues. as in the door isnt returning to shut after wot.

If the door on the flapper afm returned to shut after wide open throttle, wouldn't that kill the engine due to lack of airflow?

Both S4 and S5 AFMs have a bypass chanel that is used for idle(iirc). The S5 afm also has a "flapper" its just conical and slides in and out if released the cone in the S5 afm closes completly which is the same thing that the S4's flap does.

By replacing it with a stupid sliding cone AFM?
