S4 Wastegate flapper arm material

So, what is the flapper made of? Its non magnetic, but cant be aluminum cause aluminum melts at ~1200 degrees F. Perhaps a Non-ferrous steel? Im in the process of getting a washer welded to the door cause I ported my wastegate, but the guy I brought it to said it was Alum. but I dont think it is. So anybody know for sure what it is? I want to get this done with tomarrow cause this is going onto day 3 of this crap. Thanks in advance

its not aluminum. my friend has welded a few exhaust valves on the flapper arms with no issues as of yet. just a mig welder

Its iron-based. Likely a stainless, hence its non-magnetism, but it welds just fine with mild steel filler rod. Never had a failure, even when just using the MIG over the TIG.

The Yamaguchi book says the twin-scroll flap in the manifold is made from "HK35 heat-resistant cast steel alloy", and it's likely the wastegate flap is made of something similar.

yeah it seems to be the same stuff going by look and feel. I found a fabricator local to me that will do it for me tomarrow. Instead of welding a washer though he has a larger puck/door he will sell me for cheap and that will take care of it.
