s4 and s5 turbo's

Just have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me answer. I have a s5 turbo that a member on here was interested in purchasing. For my own knowledge as well as not to mislead anyone, I have a few questions.

First is there a difference in s4 and s5 turbo's or are they the same?

If there is a difference, Can they bolt up to each others manifolds ie. s5 turbo on a s4 motor and so on?

If not what modifications are needed to run a s5 turbo on a s4 motor?

Thanks in advance,

-Tim

nope. s4 turbo will not bolt to s5 manifold and vice versa.

The exhausts all bolt up the same. I am pretty sure the oil and water lines hook up the same. You just need the different manifold and the turbo.

wheels are the same, turbine housing and turbo manifolds are different between series and cannot be mixed. the manifolds can be bolted to either s4 or s5 engines.

the s4 cannot bolt onto the s5 and vice versa. the s4 wastegate isnt as efficient as the s5 because the s4 has a smaller wastegate port comparing to the s5's dual port. there are some special spacer that can make you mount the s5 turbo onto the s4 and maybe vice versa.

if you plan to keep these turbos, here's a site for you to see:

forgot to mention on my post, that special spacer will make you able to mount a s5 turbo on the s4 turbo manifold, and maybe vice versa depending if it was made like that i think.... good luck
