s4 and s5 t2 starter difference?

I just need to know if there is a difference between the S4 and S5 TurboII starter? I need a new one and found a few to buy but just want to be sure. Thanks.

Is there a difference with s4 and s5 Alternators? Or s4 & s5 LSD?

S4 hava a 70amp alternator slightly different wiring than an S5. S5 have a 80amp alternator
S4 have a clutch like LSD and S5 have viscous LSD or dont have one depend on model. also read FAQ first next time

I also heard that you can use a starter from an auto FC and that it's actually stronger than the regular manual tranny TII starter. Any truth to that?

Doubtful considering every Auto to Manual swap write-up tells you to replace the starter.

I've read that too. But I remember someone saying you could use one. I just wish I could remember who and if that info was correct or not.

They are supposed to be the same thing.
Turbo II starter = (NA) auto trans starter

I doubt it it's stronger...

From the FSM:

NA manual and Turbo starter = 1.2kW
NA auto starter= 2.0kW

Stronger...

Then why do the swap write-ups tell us to change the starter?

Let me rephrase then: Why are Automatic N/A starters equivalent to Manual Turbo starters but not Manual N/A starters?

It feels more sensible for either the two Manual tranny starters to be the same or the two N/A starters to be the same.

They're not the same, they're just interchangeable.
