S4 to S5 Swap Wiring Harness Question
#31
Probably a dead thread but what about the C.A.S plugs? Any diagrams on what needs to be cut and spiced there? Ive been trying to figure this out for a day or two now.

If you're putting an S5 engine in an S4 and are using the S5 sensors and S5 ECU then look at post #2 in the link provided and there are two S5 wiring diagrams. One depicts the wiring necessary. If the S5 Emmision harness is used it should be rather simple.

My Cas is a jspec s5 while my harness is s4. I am not sure what year because i bought then randomly on the site. Ive gone through all the wire on my harness and nothing matches up. But when i go to one of my s5 harnesses the plug is there just shy of the solenoid plugs.

Everything wires up the same with the S4 harness to the S5 engine. The coolant temp sensor on the block is flat instead of round and there is a extra sensor on the rats nest on the S4. Everything will work. Is your car TII or NA? If its NA there are wires you HAVE to pull at the ECU to get the car to start and run.

If your missing the CAS plug from you s4 harness then use the FSM and Chase the wires down and use the connector from your S5 harness. If your running the n332 then your injectors are for low imp. I'm not sure about use of stock S5 injectors like I did on my first swap. the car is s4 your harness is s4 engine is S5. Universal clip like cas. Use from the old harness since your missing it. Extend BAC and if needed TPS wires. You made this hell of a lot harder then it needed to be. I got my wiring done in 2 hours the 1st time.

The CAS plug and wires are part of the ENGINE harness on a series four and it mates with the Front harness so the signal on the CAS wires can make their way to the ECU.
Seems you don't have a series four ENGINE harness and probably no Front harness either.
I guess you do have a EM harness which does not have CAS wires in it if series four.
On the series five the CAS wires are in the EM harness, unlike a series four car.

Is more or less what they're suggesting you do.
I know it's possible to install an S5 ECU and engine wiring harness, but I know no details of how to do it.

You can use the s5 harness and s5 ecu if you get the s5 body harness plug and some of the wire to match the s5 ecu plug slot. Which is what I was going to do at first. I bought the s5 plug, and decided to just go haltech sprint RE since I planed on just paying someone to wire it up anyways. Car is 87TII with JDMs5TII swap.

Ok, so you want to do all of this time consuming/money devouring work just to turn around and drop a 350 into it? That seems like such a waste of everything. A 350 swap is damn expensive. Why don't you just buy some dice and hang it up in a nice used mudstain?
