Well I live in Ontario, Canada and my car is considered a classic (87) and its emissions exempt now. I think I'm gonna use the s4 LIM and just remove the EGR which you have to. But I could definitely use your diagram please post it.
Can the s4 6-pt actuators be actuated by the ACV dump hose like it says in the guide you posted? Or can only s5 be actuated by that. I'm gonna run the egr solenoid from the acv as the source to actuate the VDI and i'm gonna RPM switch the solenoid.

You could tap into the ACV dump path for pressure to run through an EGR solenoid, or you can tap an NPT nipple into the back of the air pump itself. If you leave the relief solenoid hooked up, it will open the ACV dump at about 3500 RPM, which will cause a big pressure drop. I put a restriction in the air silencer tube to keep the pressure high enough.
I'll post some pictures and the vacuum routing diagram tonight after I get home.

If you just remove the stud, there's a very good chance of causing a large vacuum leak at the rear runner. I just filed a slot into the casting (which is fairly thick), then drilled a new hole right next to the old one. An S4 UIM/LIM gasket makes a nice template. Here's the vac diagram and some of my pictures. #2 shows the modified S5 UIM. #3 shows the ground down rear iron, my EGR block-off & a temporary sheet metal bracket for the UIM. The last 2 pictures are actually from that write up above that no longer has images. I saved them off before they disappeared. That setup is with the emissions rack removed.

It is somewhat of a cave. I ground into the wall from the base to about half an inch up, then rounded it off. If you try to grind too far up, you'll go right through. Attaching a nut to the stud that went through that hole was a pain, and I had to use a nut that did not have a shoulder to it. You won't be able to get a ratchet on it, but a short wrench can still get it.
