S4 NA smokes when cold

If the motor is cold and i start the car it smokes some, and when i give it gas when it is warming up it smokes a lot until the motor heats up. Normal for a rotary? The car passed smog so i dont think there is something wrong with it, then again i could be wrong thats why im asking.

Normal, depending on colour. My S4 n/a puffs white when cold and people who don't know anything about the car try to tell me that my headgasket might be blown.

usually i think its a sign of a coolant seal but mine does it to and i always check my coolant....never goes down...also injectors are leaking and flooding...mine were cleaned 5,000miles ago so its not that either..maybe it might be one of the 2 for you?

My S5 did that just before the engine died. And before that, to the end I had to add coolent at least once a day.

My car did that, and when I took it to really high rpm it smoked also.
I think it was my oil control rings or something.

I have 71,000 original miles and my car smokes white smoke when cold. It goes away after about a minute. If I had a coolant leak would it be continues white smoke even after the car is warm? It usually smokes when it sits overnight leading me to believe it's just condensation from the cold weather, but I let my car sit while I was at work for 4 hours and when I started it up white smoke was coming out of my mufflers for about a minute, keep in mind it was cold outside. I want to believe that it's caused by leaky injectors because every so often my car will flood if stopped and started again in a short period of time. My coolant level never goes down.

Hmm, this is interesting, this is the first time ive seen leaky inkjectors blamed for smoke on startup. My S5 smokes on startup and at 8-9k RPM Ive had the car for about 6 months now, put 17k miles on it, i have NO power loss the car does run VERY rich though...

When i first got my car, it would smoke BADLY for about 10 minutes if i just let it sit. it would smoke so bad that within 1 minute i couldnt see accross the street (nieghbors loved me....)

I had first though to myself "damn coolant seal...." and was just gunna wait till it died to get it rebuilt or turbo swap. My coolant levels never change, it does run warm, but i think thats just cause of the RAD (its stock..and i have 196k miles on the car/motor) I just recently failed CA Smog i was over everything by about 3 time the leagal limit. Think it could be injectors?

This is perfectly normal.
During the cold months especially you let your car sit and condensation builds up in the pipes, when you turn it on it smokes for a while.

Rotarys with their hot *** exhaust evaporates all the water quickly so it smokes hard for a little bit. Most cars will smoke less for longer. During the summer it goes away completely. Unless you really do have blown coolant seals or leaky injectors...
