s4 n/a starting issues
I bought this 88 s4 n/a that the guy took most of engine apart BC he was going to do a swap but decided he couldn't. So I put it back together. Mostly was just throttle body, upper intake, secondary fuel rail, alternator, radiator, spark plugs and plug wires and intake. I got it all together and it cranked and turned over only for about 3 seconds and shut off by itself. I checked the coils and crank angle sensor with ohmmeter and those check out. What should I try now?

Been sitting since December. I'm getting fuel to secondary fuel rail at least. First time I got it turned over(started) the secondary fuel injector was pouring fuel out. Replaced the o ring now its fine. It'll start for about 3 seconds a day. The other times it just rotates. Should there be vacuum hoses on the backside of throttle body. Its a little clear piece with a whit cap and two nipples on it. Have no idea what is.

I just noticed while looking through a Haynes manual that I don't have the metering oil punk connecting rod attached the throttle body. Could this be it? I don't have the piece either anywhere

BTW you will notice that your "swap thread" is no longer up as it has been covered more times than a dead hooker.

Well at least you got it running. Had a similar issue with my 88 convertible. I just picked up a used engine with 90 on the clock, dropped in and fired right up. Runs good, good luck with yours.
