CA S4 lsd

okay so i went to the junkyard and i found a series 4 rx7 with four piston calipers
i couldn't tell if it was a gtus or not
it didnt have a spoiler and no rear windshield wiper
i was meaning to ask if anyone knew if it had an lsd and how i can tell
i have a series 5 gtu with no lsd because they didnt come with it
so my question is does it have the lsd?
if it does is it hard to take off?
will it fit on my s5?

No such thing as an S4 GTUs. The '87-'88 GXL & the '88 GTU were the only S4 NAs to get an LSD. LSDs have a tag on the drain plug that will say it's a limited slip diff. And yes, you can swap it into an S5 NA. Dropping the rear subframe is the easiest way to get it out.

you will be able to tell if it has a tag or not by looking at it. its about 2 inches long and an inch wide...its metal...says something about only using limited slip diff oil or something.

Dropping the rear subframe is easy. It's only held up by about 4 large bolts. Trying to pull the diff out by itself requires removing the half shafts at least. I've never done it that way; just the easier subframe method.

And no, I can't take you a picture of mine. I'm at work, and have no camera. The tag is made of metal and has a yellow sticker on it.

I took mine off at the yunk yard without droping the subframe. Sure it is way easier if you do so but it is not nessacary. Took me and my buddy like 4 hours because we did not have the correct tools. You want to take off the exhaust system, rear sway bar, gas tank sheild, etc... three nuts on differential mount. Good luck man!
