has anyone done this? if so what wires do i need to hook up ?

i did that and it didnt seem to work . are the wires diff?

If it doesn't turn on, you can try wiring it up directly to a 12v source and see if that works. If not you bought a broken unit. I believe two wires go to the 12v source, and one goes to the ground. You can check the link for the specific colors. I tested mine right on the battery before I bought it.

as hirochi said, you can test it on the battery, red wire to positive, black to ground and if it poweres up, its good, if not, its a defective unit.

it has power and turns on fine. just not sure what wires to hook them to,
im gonna try a few different wires and see if i read the write up wrong.

Nice link...I've had my safc for a couple years now and still haven't installed it on my NA. Any recommendations on brand of wideband?

The pictures are looking from the WIRE side of the ECU plug. Or if no plug on the ECU, then looking directly into the ECU's jacks.

first thing you should do to tune with the safc, get a wideband.

I dont know the a/f ratio for a n/a engine but from what I remember reading, 12:1 ratio under load is what you are looking for, 13.5-14 at idle, 14-15 at light cruising (highway)

Should sell that SAFC to somebody else and get an Rtek. More adjust-ability and no hacked up harness and full timing control
