S-afc 2....? when would i need it...

im currently working on tuning my new turbo over the winter, i have a full 3" turbo back with 5 zigen mufflers, no omp, no ps, no cats and no air pump. i have a hks ssq bov to put on but am told that it can actually slightly decline performance becasue it is releasing to the atmoshpere and not back into the engine... i was going to buy an new intercooler, and thinking about bigger secondaries with a bigger fuel pump. i am simply unsure if the s-afc will help me now??.. should i wait untill i get more mods, should i bother with it at all, i just want some feedback to make sure i get the right mods first, i had an n/a for 3 years so tuning my turbo is like WOO... i can actually make power with mods now! im still learning, so thanks for the feedback..

p.s. can the safc control boost aswell??

the safc doesn't control boost, it is only for adjusting fuel. I don't have any personal experience with the safcII, but I'm sure it'd be helpful at any point during your build-up.
I've heard the safcII is pretty nice for it's cost, though I'm sure alot of people would say just save up and go stand-alone for later tunability.

I'm not positive about the BOV concern you have, but I'm sure you can put it on their with little or no negative side effects.

I'd look into a manual boost controller for controlling your boost.. also have you ported your wastegate yet?

If I were you I'd also consider the rtek 1.7 chip.

You'll need the SAFC once you want to achieve higher boost levels. The stock computer cannot add more fuel by itself, the safc tells it to add more fuel, and best yet, its adjustable.
You will also need a FCD, fuel cut defence, cause its a built in safety measure on the ecu to prevent more than stock power.

Finally all you need to controll boost is a valve, it can be made or bought. All it does is lets boost out from the intake-wastegate actuator, so that it doesn't activate so early.

There are so many things to do to the TII if you want higher boost levels, and adding more boost is the only real way to add more power, without porting that is.

Yeah it does actually, that's what the airflow meter is for. As long as boost is kept at a reasonable level the ECU will cope with mild mods quite happily.
