I checked all those links, they werent much help. I should know what the s-afc is by now, and my guess is that its an air/fuel controller. But, I honestly dont know either....I hate to admit that..

super-air flow converter I believe is the what it really stands for. It changes the air flow signal so that you can adjust how much fuel is used. If you just go anywhere they sell them they usually have a description:

You can get up to 20hp on an n/a by leaning out your fuel curve!
My next mod! Yay!

Well that's what I read on the forum.

As for S-AFC on an N/A... I've said it a hundred times, you need most bolt ons for it to be worthwhile (ie, full exhaust, intake) since the ECU runs more and more rich the more airflow there is... but you will get tons of gain by leaning the midrange, (up to 20hp) and some up top too....(maybe 5-10) Makes for a great powerband.
But it all depends on how the car is running. Most likely it's too rich though, and can be leaned out for more power.
Oh ya, and stock o2 sensors suck- it's like trying to measure something using a tape measure made of rubber bands...

i checked at apexi-usa.com

its a piggy back fuel computer
it modifies air-flow meter signal to optimize fuel-air ratio

retail price: 419.00

i found some on ebay for cheaper, i'm thinking about building my own, concept is simple, tap into o2 sensor so you know what your a/f ratio is...tap in so you can tell the comptuer "what it is" so it will automatically adjust it, get my drift?

i believe it's www.germanautowerks.com that has it for $290.00. I saw it was backordered and emailed and they updated the page and said they're back in stock. Sounds like a really good buy, and I damn near ordered one myself

ok guys comon. You cant get 20hp from a stand alone let alone a S-AFC on an N/A But
If you have a mild street port with ported intake manifolds and full intake and exaust you can make 10rwp. It was proven on the dyno by one of our forum members. Thats prob around 13fhp. Its definatly worth it on an N/A because you can lean them out to make power. But you do need profesional tuning to get the most out of it. Use a dyno or you can hurt your engine. I have installed my own but couldnt tune it right myself so I sold it but bought another one today.

Sorry I dont get it? I know about taping the blue wire to oxygen sensor but how does that correct the ECU or vise versa for auto adjustments. Its not that saphisticated I dont think. Anyone else?

well, if you "splice the afc between the o2 and ecu" then the input will be changed by the afc, which will output a different voltage (a/f ratio), and the computer will think its too rich, so it will lean it out, or its too lean and richen it..get it? makes sense to me, right now...

Hey j-rat. Judging by your 550 secondaries on your N/A, you are definitely In need of a s-afc. Your running rich man!

It's not the S- afc that is giving 20hp, but by going way leaner, there is a possibilty to increase power. maybe not that number though. changing the fuel curve is making the power
