I have my recept i might go look for it...

Yup they are 54 is about right. I was suppose to do my friends rx8 turne up. Went to pepboys and they had no listings for it. Called mazda and they said it was about 54 bucks. My one local parts store had them for 35 - 37 bucks. Amzaon had them for a good price. I believe he paid 16? for them

I'm running NGK B(#)ES plugs, I'm running 9's right now. I just snip the ground strap a bit shorter so it's more of an air gap plug. $2.50 each, and my local AZ stocks 7-10 heat range in them.

Lol, seriously.

You guys pay 54 dollars for a set of NGKs.
You havent seen prices over here ... I pay about 80 $ for a set (yes, 4) of BUR9EQ

Thats just the BUR9EQ, the BUR9EQP (Platin) version, they cost about 100 dollars over here.

Best of all, they are not permanently in stock , means special order. Waiting time and extra fee.

Thats just a freaking sparkplug. I dont like to use iridium/platinum and whatever. Just more expensive and does not bring a real gain.

A regular plug on my Peugeot 309 costs about 1,5 dollar, and I need 4 of them.

Damn

To add my two cents a little later, We put rx7 lead plugs in an rx8. Not sure if they are perfect for it, but they do work alright, no noticeable downsides. They are much cheaper, went from buying 80 bucks in stock plugs to just 10 bucks in leading rx7 plugs and reusing the stock rx8 trailings. Yes FC' guys are cheap and you shouldn't let them near your Rx8.

I want rx8 plugs in my turbo FC, but they don't make them in 10's or 11's right? I like the rx8 plugs alot, because they look like some racing plugs I have seen for 13b's but improved, (well the trailing does. the leads look like a combo of the race plugs and the stock FC plugs) Also they are 10 bucks cheaper than the $30 dollar race plugs for the 13b's. But, like said already, you can't run the 9's from the trailing on account of the length difference.. I really don't want the leading because the heat range it comes in... They don't make them in other heat ranges right?

The trailings are alot closer to the race plugs than the leadings. But the trailings have an improvement where the surrounding ring is angled. Says on the box that it helps resisting quenching or something like that.

The leadings are alot different, looking like stock FC plugs mixed with the race plugs. I suppose it gives them 5 different places to arc maybe? I really have no idea why they did it..

Ya there almost $17 on rock auto instead of almost $21 at discount. Plus shipping you're coming up on the same price. I'm a big fan of rockauto though, usually saves me like 20 or 30 bucks on bigger parts. After shipping costs.

Anyone else notice this threads 3 years old? Use BUR7EQP and BUR9EQP. Nothing wrong with them and you know they will work and not damage your engine.

I've bumped older threads lol.

Also, it is just an idea. I want 10's or 11's racing plugs for like 30-40 a pop. Figured it was worth posting in here to see if anyone has gotten the rx8 trailings to work or found any colder heat range plugs that mimic the rx8 plugs. On account of how much cheaper they are compared to the race plugs.

Ahh ok, nice call. I wonder why mazda chose to use two different designs on the rx8?

i hate RX8 plugs

i prefer BUR9EQ because they can be cleaned and reused. very little gains in these older engines from the iridiums. spark plug cleaner from harbor freight = $9 and gets you nice clean plugs ready for round 2, 3 or even 4-10.

looking for an additional horsepower or 2 with slightly better starting? use the iridiums and replace them every 15k a pop for $50.
