RX7 vs Neon update

okay every one i did it i raced him and won 500 DOLLARS!!!! it was pretty easy like you all said we went out and found a mile long country road that every one drags on and went for it. we both spun them pretty bad but when the limited slip kicked in thats when it got fun. while i was goin sideways oh so little i shifted into second it stuck and i went like hell. when i shifted into second it sounded like he was still in first at around 5-6 grand just burnin it up. so i won he was pissed his (hot) girl friend now loves my car and says his is slow i got my money and he did the rice burn out to show that he still thinks hes the ****

Race him again, double or nothing.
He wins, he gets his money back, you win, you get the money and his girlfriend

Haha. It's fun to profit off of stupid people. Neon vs. T2? Sheesh

Did he even have any tricks up his sleeve like NOS or something??

Well, now that you've had some fun, it's time you raced some REAL sports cars.

Actually, I know of a fast *** neon in my town. All the motor mods, intake, header, exhaust, cam gears, cams, ported and shaved head, ported throttle body, ported intake, ignition upgrade, s-afc, and solid motor mounts. VERY quick car. My TII was running mid 14's before it was totalled and I was smoked by that little car like nothing. The motor mounts make a huge difference. It was a nice car actually. Black with tinted windows and 16" wheels. Dropped an inch or so. No kit, no silly wing. Just a clean car. I've got some respect for neons now. Still wondering why someone would do that to a neon..

Although I've probably talked about it before, a buddy of mine has a turbo Neon R/T.

Super 16G turbo, intercooled
Overbored throttle body
Unorthodox Racing Pulley
Crower rods
JE low comp-pistons
Bored .20 over
Balanced & blueprinted
Twin disk clutch w/lightweight flywheel
Eurethane engine mounts
Engine torque bar
Exhaust that exits shortly after the turbo (no muffler)
Upgraded fuel pump

The car is good for a 13.9 in the 1/4. Partly because he can't get any traction, partly because he's on the stock injectors and ECU. He has a Quaife LSD on order since he just destroyed his current differential, a small pin slipped loose. When he gets his stand alone ECU and bigger injectors I imagine the car will be considerably faster.

So yes, Neon's can be very quick little cars.

I like the idea. I like it a lot. Better take a pic of her and post her here to see if she's worth it.

Ha, thanks. Racing for pinkslips, hmmmm. He'd probly get as big of a shot of N2O as he could afford and mess his engine up nicely.

Man that guy was a real dumbass it sounds like. Now watch him get the same car you have, one guy with an Integra I raced did that. Hey if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! But it wasn't cool for the Integra guy to do that seriously.

Neons can be fast. A few simple mods drop them into 13 sec range. I know. I had one. But ofcourse i have My RX7 now.

With a little money and know how, you could make any CAR go quick. I'm currenly working the details on a get this...........FESTIVA. We all know what's going under the hood. With 200hp at the wheels vs it's low weight, This would make a great sleeper. The worlds fastest shoe!!

In all fairness to Neons, I read an article on a NA Neon (NO nitrous either) that runs low 13's. It's also streetable and is a daily driver. I gotta respect that even tho I'm not a neon fan.
